This article really got me upset.
Although I think it’s a waste of time and taxpayer dollars, there are many fights to further separate church and state that I can live with. If someone is truly offended by public school prayer, or a Ten Commandments statue in a court, or even a Christmas tree in a city building, as ridiculous as I think they are, I understand their desire to fight these things.
On the other hand, a wooden cross built by veterans 75 years ago to honor their fallen comrades I think should stay. Not only is it a monument to the fallen veterans, but also to the dedication of the veterans who constructed it, to their country and their comrades. The ACLU needs to back off this one.

Well, I guess they are being pro-big government, big spending, and environment here, so 3 out of 4 isn’t bad, right? Check out this article for more.
Eliminating private sources of financial aid and student loans? Who does that help? Oh yeah, and they snuck another czar into the unofficial cabinet Obama is building. A “Green Schools” Czar? Shouldn’t either Arne Duncan or whoever is in charge of the EPA be in charge of green-ing our schools?

Another oldy but goody. Obama continues to name czars. You know, the cabinet, approved by Congress, is not enough for Obama. He has to keep appointing czars. His “cabinet” is more like a closet, or perhaps an attic.
And by the way, does anyone know how much these czars make, or where the money comes from??

This is another old article, but one that everyone in Southern Nevada should be aware of.
In a “right to work” state (that means that Nevadans think you should be able to get a job regardless of Union membership), with an unemployment rate almost 5 percent above the national average, our County apparently thinks supporting unions is more important than supporting local businesses or the people they employ. Keep in mind that in the last two years, our state has lost 1/3 of its construction jobs. Not to mention that 80 percent of locally owned contractors are non-Union.
Oh well.

This article is old, but very important.
Obama may have barred lobbyists from working in his administration, but he certainly didn’t bar them from working on the administration.
Big Pharm cut a deal, and is now spending $150 million on advertising in support of health care reform, most of it through a firm which David Axelrod consults for, and his son works for. In return, Obama is continuing a policy from the reign of the “evil” Bush which essentially keeps America buying drugs at the prices set by pharmaceutical companies.
Great. Change we can believe in.
